A Beginner’s Guide to Custom Bedding

If you’re new to the world of custom bedding, the infinite possibilities might be a little startling.  Here are the first three steps we suggest to make your bed your own one-of-a-kind happy place:

    1. Get a monogrammed accent pillow.  Be advised–monogramming can be very addictive, and you might start toting everything that isn’t nailed down to your local embroidery shop.  Even if you don’t become a fiend, though, a small accent pillow with your initials embroidered on it adds a classy, personal touch to your bed and puts you in a mindset of caring for yourself and your space.  Try your favourite colour embroidered on a white background and don’t forget the classic monogram format: first initial on the left, last initial slightly larger in the centre, and middle initial on the right. For married couples, the wife’s initial goes on the left with the husband’s on the right, again flanking the first letter of the last name. Here’s more Custom Bedding info.
    2. Order a custom duvet.  Here’s a way to really express your style and add years to the life of your comforter.  A duvet can be as simple or ornate as you like and can even be made reversible. Think one side solid or toned down and the flip side in a bold print.  You can flip and reverse it seasonally, with every wash, or just now and then when you want your room to feel refreshed. A duvet can also be accented with trim of any kind–lace, ribbon, beading, banding, or anything else, for a totally unique look.
  • Find the sheets of your (literal) dreams.  Unless you’re a serious connoisseur, it might blow your mind to learn just how many different types of sheets are out there.  And don’t feel like you’re doing something wrong if you end up liking an inexpensive fabric best of all. Be sure to touch several samples to compare, have fun mulling over the vast array of colours and prints, and look forward to sleeping on a wrinkle-free surface made to fit your mattress precisely.
